'Terra' (Land) was firstly developed in cooperation with architect Ricardo Bak Gordon for the Portugal Pavillion in Expo 2008 Zaragoza. The exhibition’s theme is portuguese rivers. This series of rivers reveals an overall peace for which contributes the visual harmony of each of the photographic images. Cera also presents an audiovisual piece in which moving image and sound work together in complementarity with the capture of the instant that is inherent in the photographs, for the beholder’s experience.
The exhibition is composed of fifteen photographs: three in the format of 110 by 145 centimeters, eleven in the format of 45 by 60 centimeters and one in the format of 72 by 200 centimeters.
It also includes the video "Olhar um Rio Novo," 2008, filmed in HD and transcribed to DVD (16:9, PAL, 2'30'').
Nuno Cera was born in Beja (1972), he graduated in Advertising in IADE and won scholarships from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the Musée Nicéphore Nièpce and the Jetlag LX Macao. He lives and works in Lisbon and Berlin.
