“The methodological basis of the program and phases that I intend to develop for the realization of a sound map in Luz, Mourão, starts from the assumption that the Phonography and Field Recordings are documentary and archival tools. Not only they are registration information, but also ideas, environments, emotions, and that according to a bioacoustical and ethnological point of view – making of the recording, presentation and contextualization of sound, in the form of sound mapping – much more is done than the preservation of a memory. “

Miguel Pacheco Gomes’ Luz Sound Map is part of the multidisciplinary research project in residency ‘Inhabiting Luz (12 years later)’.
