Light- Inauguration June 29, 2017 / Renewed in 2022

Exhibition focused on the recent history of the village of Luz, in particular the period of change caused by the Alqueva dam.
Objects from the past, belonging to the museum’s ethnographic collection and donated by the inhabitants of Luz, represent the ancestral crafts that linked men to the land and natural resources.
These objects are related to rural work and frame the documentary ‘My village no longer lives here’, by Catarina Mourão, and audiovisual notes produced at the time.

In 2022, the permanent thematic exhibition was renovated, removing the agriculture core and introducing cores already on display in the Museum’s initial exhibition, namely: the beekeeping core, the pig slaughter core and renovating the abegão and blacksmith core.
