Rattle – Object of the month for February 2024

Rattle

This month, we commemorate livestock farming by exhibiting an object from the herding subcollection.
We present another of the rattles from our museum collection.
The rattle on display was placed around the necks of cattle.
This object is cylindrical in shape with an arched handle at the top where the chain passed, suspending it from the animal’s neck, and a wooden clapper.
