Gonçalo C. Silva – Sustentar (Ci.Clo) – adaptation to the climate changes and the management of water in the region of Alqueva – from August 26th to September 6th 2024

Alqueva was the “setting” chosen by Gonçalo C. Silva for an artistic creation project around climate change and water management.
As part of the “SUSTENTAR” project, produced and organized by the Ci.CLO Photography Platform, the artist is developing an artistic residency focused on adaptation to climate change and water management in the Alqueva region.
The results of this work will be presented in an exhibition at the next edition of the Porto Photography Biennial, from May 15 to June 29 of next year and at the Museu da Luz.
Gonçalo C. Silva is working with experts from EDIA – Alqueva Development and Infrastructure Company to create “a more in-depth look at the social and ecological issues affecting the Alqueva region.”
Gonçalo C. Silva explains that he chose to explore the “most invisible” part of Alqueva’s water management and distribution.
