Rafael Eudave – Research Project on Community Digitization of Heritage – April 2026

Rafael Ramirez Eudave is a postdoctoral researcher at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands who sought collaboration with the Museum of Light.

He is developing a project dedicated to creating mechanisms that facilitate the digitization of heritage assets from within communities, with a special focus on those that are at risk of disappearing.

This project, funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions of the European Union, has as its main objective that the production and maintenance of digital memories be shared collaboratively between communities, memory institutions (such as museums) and the scientific community.

The aim is to bring these activities into the digital realm, with the goal of connecting local initiatives to larger-scale platforms and networks (such as Europeana), with the conviction that this will increase the visibility and reach of this heritage, respecting and valuing the methods and resources that the communities themselves use to narrate and safeguard their cultural heritage.
