Spatula – Object of the Month for June 2026

In the month in which the European Archaeology Days are celebrated, the Luz Museum is exhibiting one of the objects from its archaeology collection.
This is a spatula found at Castelo da Lousa, an archaeological site from the Roman era, which is currently submerged.
This spatula has a shaft with one end finished in a bulb and the other in a flattened handle. This object was used by the Romans as a medical instrument.
