Mallet – Object of the month for September 2026

This month we are exposing an object used in the work of the “abegão” a craft that is dying out, but which used to be especially important in the villages and towns of the Alentejo Region. It is a mallet.

The mallet is made of wood, cylindrical in shape, with an handle that tapers towards the middle on the perpendicular plane.

This object was used for hammering.
